There are around 70 works of art scattered around Canary Wharf, one of the main financial centers of the UK and the world. All works have been purchased, commissioned or loaned by the Canary Wharf Group, the biggest property company for office spaces in London.

Although the district with its river bank, squares and parks has the look and feel of public land, it is governed by restrictions drawn up by the landowner and usually enforced by private security companies.
